Accessibility Commitment — Super Gardener
Super Gardener Accessibility Statement
Access and Usability for SuperGardener Services
At Super Gardener we are committed to making all aspects of our service accessible. This accessibility statement describes how Super Gardener, SuperGardener and super-gardener interfaces are designed and maintained to support inclusive access. We prioritize equal access for people with disabilities, and we follow recognised standards and inclusive design principles to ensure information, tools and gardening resources are usable by as many people as possible. Our goal is practical, measurable improvements across content, interactions and support.
We aim for conformance with WCAG 2.1 AA standards, implementing perceptible text contrasts, resizable text, consistent navigation and accessible forms. The Super Gardener accessibility program includes automated testing, manual audits and remediation plans. Content producers and developers are trained to use semantic markup, proper headings and ARIA when necessary to preserve meaning and structure. We maintain an accessibility roadmap with prioritized issues, timelines and owners to ensure steady progress and accountability. Training for content editors covers plain language, heading hierarchy, link purpose and the proper use of tables so that published pages are accessible from the start.
Screen-reader support is central to our work. We use semantic HTML, logical reading order and meaningful alt text to ensure compatibility with popular screen readers. Live and dynamic content updates are announced appropriately to assistive technologies, and live labels, role attributes and keyboard-focusable controls are prioritised. We recognise that users of the super gardener platform rely on assistive tech; accessibility features are tested regularly with major screen-reader setups.
Keyboard navigation and focus management receive careful attention. Users can navigate interactive sections and forms without a mouse, and visual focus indicators are provided for clarity. Key accessibility features include:
- Skip links and landmark regions to jump to main content
- Clear focus outlines and logical tab order for interactive controls
- Fully operable forms with labels, instructions and error recovery
We also maintain accessible media, captions, transcripts and clear descriptions for images and multimedia on SuperGardener channels. Images and diagrams include descriptive alt text and long descriptions where appropriate. We use progressive enhancement so that users on older or assistive platforms still receive core content and tasks. We value inclusive input and periodically invite accessibility specialists to audit complex features and recommend improvements.
Our testing process spans automated scans, manual review and targeted assistive-technology testing. We work to resolve issues found and prioritise fixes that affect navigation and comprehension. Accessibility is maintained by cross-functional teams and is integrated into release cycles. We also collaborate with third party providers and require accessibility commitments in procurement to reduce barriers in integrated services. An internal governance forum reviews compliance metrics and escalates complex issues to ensure timely remediation. Where content cannot be made accessible immediately we offer alternative formats on request and work with the requester to find a timely solution. If you encounter barriers while using the super gardener experience please contact our accessibility team through the designated accessibility request process; we will acknowledge requests and provide a plan for resolution.
We welcome accessibility requests and will consider reasonable accommodations. Response timelines depend on complexity, but we commit to clear communication and transparent tracking of accessibility work. We publish summaries of major accessibility milestones and technical changes so that people who rely on accessible services can plan and prepare. Accessibility improvements are published as part of our ongoing accessibility efforts, and we review policies periodically. Thank you for helping us make Super gardener usable for everyone; your reports and requests are valued and lead to continuous enhancement. Our intent is continuous progress. Always.
